Shervin Kordary Pishevar (Persian: شروین پیشه ور; born March 24, 1974) is an Iranian-American entrepreneur, venture capitalist, super angel investor, and philanthropist. He is the co-founder and former executive chairman of Hyperloop One and a co-founder and managing director of Sherpa Capital, a venture capital fund which has invested in companies including Airbnb, Uber, GoPuff, Cue Health, Slack, Robinhood, Munchery and Postmates.[1][2][3]

As an angel investor, Pishevar has seeded more than 60 companies. He was previously a managing director at Menlo Ventures, where he led investments in Warby Parker, Tumblr, Machine Zone, and Uber Series B. He is a strategic advisor to Uber, and served as a board observer to the company from 2011 to 2015. He founded and operated technology-enabled companies including webs.com, WebOS, SGN, HyperOffice.[4][5]

Beginning in 2011, he served a two-year term as a member of the 10 person UN Foundation's Global Entrepreneurs Council.[6] He was chosen by the U.S. Government as an Outstanding American by Choice in 2012, and in 2015 he was appointed by Barack Obama to the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.[7] As an American citizen of Iranian descent, Pishevar was awarded an Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2016.[8]
