Nagpur Metro is a rapid transit system for the city of Nagpur, located in the state of Maharashtra, India.[4][5] The system consists of 2 colour-coded lines serving 37 stations, with a total length of 38.2 kilometres (23.7 mi). It is the 13th Metro system in India to be operational.[6] It is also being touted as the greenest metro rail in India.[7]

The prime minister inaugurated operations on Nagpur Metro on 8 March 2019[7] via video conferencing along with Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis and Union Cabinet Minister Nitin Gadkari.[2][8]

Currently, the Phase II work has also been started,[9] with geotechnical investigation nearing completion.[10]
